Ableton Live is a powerful Digital Audio Workstation that allows you to compose and produce electronic music but also experiment with sounds during live performances. This workshop is designed as an introduction to this software. We will start from the basics and learn how to start composing tracks, regardless of the genres you are interested in. We will cover:
-overview of the software and its main functions
-drum machines and instruments included in the software
-working with MIDI and audio domains
-basic audio effects (reverb, delay, distortion, chorus)
-making beats, clips and arranging them
-connecting controllers and external VST to Ableton

Zosia Hołubowska is a non-binary sound artist, musician, and music activist. As a founder of Sounds Queer? they have been organizing and facilitating workshops on synthesizers since 2014. They share their time between performing as a curvy synth witch Mala Herba, promoting femmes and non-binary artists in electronic music as a member of Oramics, and working on their Ph.D. thesis at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, exploring the idea of queer sound.
