Ableton Live is a powerful Digital Audio Workstation that allows you to compose and produce electronic music but also experiment with sounds during live performances. This workshop is designed as a continuation of Ableton Live I and focuses on composition and mixing. It is a bit more advanced and requires basic knowledge of the program. We wil cover:
-process of creating a track from an idea to a finished production
-working with samples and found audio
-mixing effects (compression, eq, sidechains)
-balance in the mix regarding volume and frequency
-space and automation in the mix
-using Ableton Live in a performance situation, from dance gigs to more experimental setups

BIO
Zosia Hołubowska is a non-binary sound artist, musician, and music activist. As a founder of Sounds Queer? they have been organizing and facilitating workshops on synthesizers since 2014. They share their time between performing as a curvy synth witch Mala Herba, promoting femmes and non-binary artists in electronic music as a member of Oramics, and working on their Ph.D. thesis at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, exploring the idea of queer sound.
